Introducing the

Brass Rubbing Medieval Arts Center

UPCOMING 2026 Dates To Be Announced Soon

Each Fall the Brass Rubbing Medieval Arts Center in Long Beach offers a field trip, or outing destination for youth, adults, and, active seniors for something new and educational. Each participant learns a bit about medieval times and makes a piece of artwork to take home.

The Brass Rubbing Medieval Arts Center is located at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Long Beach.

This will be our 39th year offering a field trip opportunity for schools, youth, and adult groups to learn about Medieval History, and experience the art of making a piece of art by rubbing metallic waxes over metal plates covered with special paper. The brass plates are replicas of memorials from the churches of England 1200-1500 ad.

With banners & shields, our castle ambiance adds to the fun. We have a suit of armor and chainmail tunic as part of our classroom talk.

We welcome groups of 10 or more by reservation. The cost is $12 per person participating.

English Tea is available in our lovely Tea Room, if reserved. The cost of Tea is $20 for youth and $30 for adults, and includes the brass rubbing.

Details are available by contacting brass.rubbing.lb@gmail.com  to request information or to schedule a visit.
