Four Saturdays a month we offer a hot shower, clean clothing, amenities, and a meal to our homeless friends. We provide clean clothes serving 75+ men and 25+ women for clothing/showers each week, 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Our facilities include one full-service shower for women, as well as three full-service showers and two lavatories for men. We are one of just a few places in the city where people experiencing homelessness can shower. With other church partners and volunteers, we provide breakfast on two Saturdays and hot lunch on two Saturdays. Donations of clean, appropriate clothing, especially socks, underwear and jeans, magazines, books, and shoes are needed and welcome. Call the office or drop by during normal office hours to turn in donations.
How Can I Volunteer? We look for volunteers who can commit to one Saturday morning a month for either a four or five hour shift to be part of a regular team. If this doesn’t work for you, we are happy to have drop-in volunteers. Advance notice is appreciated, however. We are happy to have students needing community service hours. STARTING TIME is 7:30 AM.

For over 30 years, St. Luke's has fed the homeless and needy of downtown Long Beach a hot meal on the 2nd and 4th Sat. of every month. The meal on the 2nd Saturday is prepared and served by Los Altos United Methodist Church in our Parish Hall. St. Luke’s prepares and serves the meal on the 4th Saturday. Volunteers are welcome to help prepare and serve food, as we help about 250 people. Starting time in the kitchen is 9:30 AM and we are usually finished by 12:15 PM.
