Thursdays at 10am (healing Eucharist in the chapel)
Do you use Rite I? No. We use Rite II and supplemental texts from Enriching our Worship.
Do you have Sunday School or Nursery Care? Yes. Elementary School age children should come to Room A101 at 10am, as we explore Jesus’ Way of Love through scripture, church stuff, visual arts, and performing arts. These children return to worship at The Peace. Pre-K/K should come to the preschool area of Building A at 10am. These children come to the Baptismal Font at the start of Communion for parent pickup. Nursery age childcare is provided from 10 – 11:30am.
I’m not an Episcopalian. Will I be welcome? Yes! We provide a bulletin so you can easily follow the service. Our central act of worship is Holy Communion (Holy Eucharist, the Lord’s Supper), and along with prayers, Scripture, and a sermon, we believe that God is present. We are followers of Jesus: wherever you are in your faith journey, you are welcome here.
Can I take Communion? Yes. As you feel comfortable, please come forward to receive the bread (a round wafer) and wine (we share a common cup). If you would like a blessing, you are invited come forward and cross your arms over your chest.
What kinds of outreach ministries do you have? St. Luke’s is passionate about service to our community. Our Saturday shower program and Manna Meals help those without permanent homes (please explore this website for details). We participate in the Long Beach Pride Parade every year and welcome our LGBTQ brothers and sisters.
What about parking? There are two lots: one off of Atlantic Ave., just north of the church and one off of 7th Street, west of the church, just before Linden Ave.
