Shower Program Forum – Sunday, January 20
Join us in the Commins Room after the 10am Eucharist when Dr. Ira Diamond, founder of Shoes for the Homeless, will be our guest speaker. Dr. Diamond donates shoes to our Shower Program on an almost monthly basis. He has been awarded the Annual Hero Award by the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of LA for embodying and promoting the spirit of the Peace Corps in his service to the community of LA. We are collecting good walking shoes for men and women that day in support of our Shower Program, and Dr. Diamond’s program. Please join us after getting your coffee and snack!
MLK Youth Service Weekend – January 19–21, 2019
We hope that your youth will join us for this special three-day service weekend! This innovative local mission trip is a joint project between St. Cross, St. Francis Palos Verdes, and St. Luke’s Long Beach. Saturday will be spent in Long Beach, Sunday in Palos Verdes, and Monday will be a trip to San Diego, where we visit a church with extensive immigration ministries and hike along the beach near the border. If your child has not yet RSVP'd, please contact Mother Nancy as soon as possible.
